Our Classrooms

Mission Statement

We believe that each child is a unique individual with his/her own pattern of growth and development. We believe that to encourage this growth socially, emotionally, intellectually, and physically, the child needs a planned child-centered environment. Each child needs a place where the teacher meets the child on his/her level, literally and developmentally, and which provides new opportunities to explore the world around him. We provide encouragement, understanding, nurturing and comfort to each child as she learns, explores, and grows.

Our program is carefully designed to give each child opportunities to develop their creativity, curiosity, and ability to express ideas and concepts. The program also encourages your child to express thoughts, needs, and feelings and to communicate with others. This is accomplished through best instructional practices from a careful assessment of current programs and curricula.

Infants

6 weeks-12 months

It is our goal to create a warm and safe environment for all of our infants. We strive to partner with each family in developing a daily schedule for naptimes and bottle times. We use music, toys, provide interesting textures and visuals, and read stories to help each child develop at their own pace.

We create individual lesson plans for each infant weekly in order to provide developmentally appropriate and engaging acivities for the wide range of skills and milestones of this age group.

Toddlers

Young Toddlers: 12 months-24 months      Older Toddlers: 24 months-36 months

To promote the social development of each child, we plan developmentally appropriate activities, literature, and gentle reminders of the importance of each individual and the need to work together. We encourage the child's natural curiosity about the world and support his/her desire for independence. We set gentle limits that lead to self-acceptance. We believe that the purpose of discipline is to guarantee the physical safety and emotional well being of every child and to help the individual child to develop self-control and assume responsibility for his/her own acts and choices.

Preschool

We expand on the skills and independent learning from the Toddler Rooms to our Preschool Rooms. With learning objectives derived from Pennsylvania's Early Learning Standards, hands-on activities for language arts, science, math, and social studies provide extended opportunities for discovery.

Our curriculum is designed to ensure your child is ready for her next educational milestone:Kindergarten!

School Age

During the Summer Months, your child will participate in field trips, cooking activities, science exploration, and literacy development in our Summer Camp Program.
